New things in the Studio: August Edition
August is here and so is almost the end of summer!
August has been generally hot. But with the end of summer there are still a ton of things to do this Summer.
My everyday bag
I've never really been one for sling bags. I usually carry most of my things in my pockets. But I like to carry a charger, hand sanitizer, and so much more that getting a crossbody bag like this Bellroy Laneway Belt Bag just made sense.

It has a ton of pockets for my various things. Has a hidden pocket for my iPhone and comes in this really great color: Sea Kelp. Oh also its made of 50% recycled fish nets which I think fits with the sea theme really well.

Compact charger to go
Speaking of carrying things, one of those things I like to carry is a battery bank like the Anker 533 Power Bank.

What I like about it is its compact size and more importantly the digital display that tells me how much battery is left. It does come with a single USB-A and two USB-C ports charging up to 30W. And with a 10,000mAh capacity it's been great for throwing in my bag to charge up my phone and airpods when they need some juice.

Some more reading
So I picked up another fantastic book. This month it's Mascot: Mascots in Contemporary Graphic Design.

It's this neat little book covering some really awesome branding and illustration work from some more boutique brands. There are exerpts from the designers who designed these mascots and their thought process of making them. Really great to see some unique branding concepts in a world where brands are pushing for more minimalism.

Dynamic Macbook Island
I thought I would start mentioning some really cool software tools that I use on a daily basis. Most recently I started using NotchNook from lo.cafe. If you have ever wanted a dynamic island for your mac, this is the app!

It's a small software utility that turns the top of your mac into a dynamic island. A slim bar when hovered or clikced will reveal your calendar or what song is playing right now.

It also has a file shelf and ability to airdrop features which has been convenient on more than one occasion. It has updates almost every week so there are new features coming in all the time.

Boundless Brush
So I got into vinyl recently. Getting the Boundless Audio Record Cleaner Brush has definitely been a good pick up.

It has a wide brush length with very soft bristles making cleaning your vinyl a breeze. And it comes with a flip over design so the brush is protected when not in use.o
